Yup. I think you only scratched the surface here Will, but great you wrote about the financial angle at all, thanks for posting.
There is a silver lining to this cloud, that can be realised by noticing more KWhrs than ever are being put to use from the sun. Those go into the economy in a way that we get the benefit of them without money having been issued on them, whilst having beneficial effect on the planet. But getting the full value from them will require we issue money on them.
Three guesses how the money has to be issued, and what the wisest of us will do when we receive it, given the sun didn't ask for anything in return for the KWhrs it donated to us, we will expand the facilities needed to receive it, and convert it to useful things like Hydrogen fuel, which replaces fossil fuels with none of the pollution.
Notice none of that needs banks, but it might need something like an Ai to oversee and regulate it all. On which Ai to use, that would be the one that is solar powered already. I think that might be ChatGPT, because it apparently runs on the servers vacated by Ethereum, when the latter switched to pos from pow, since the motivation of pow miners is to go solar, to maximise returns, they often would have done this "Under the radar", for a number of reasons.
So this Ai would be the one to trust that it has no permanently built in profit motive that it might have had, to profit from users, if it was powered by energy supplied at profit.
