Yours is the new age interpretation of what Tesla had in mind, you obviously have not researched much of what he wrote.
He believed Earth is like a giant spherical capacitor, where the dielectric around Earth is its atmosphere, with layers which are constantly charged to be opposites of one another, and of Earth, by the energy from the sun.
Hence lightning is the dielectric breaking down between those layers.
We know it is possible to transmit electricity via the ground, it is used as the ground conducter in all grid systems, therefore it transmits current.
Tesla's intention was simply to 'tap off" some of the charge difference between Earth and dielectric layers anywhere anyone needed power.
It is a perfectly workable scheme, but has never been pursued by business for the same reason business is now denying that their market for energy is in process of being eaten up by domestic and community solar.
They lose power, in every sense of the word.
It was JP Morgan who was Tesla's only funder in that final project, which also included internet like connectivity, another development we know would have been pergectly possible. Morgan defunded Tesla, when the outcome of free power became apparent.
Tesla made the mistake of thinking Morgan would do for the benefit of humanity.
Obviously he was wrong.
But that avarice, just as championed in the giant " Triumph of Avarice" tapestry still on display in Morgan's library / study, in his memorial, is now coming home to roost, after 120+ years since Tesla was defunded.
Physically driven, unstoppable inflation, is the reward for us now, until the energy debt to Earth begins to be repaid, the only way it can be, by the energy of the sun being reflected by issue of money, for free, to all people.
Until then, if ever, enjoy the inflation.
