You lost me at this point. Can't have some positives and some negatives, its either all or none. Up until this point your reasoning was perfect, educating me also on the subtler points of planting new trees. But the bottom line remains, the temperature will keep going up, to burn all kinds of trees and all greenery, whether they were naturally planted or not, with the same effect, accelerating the temperature rise, towards somethign like an explosion eventually. it is a distraction I think to focus on the higer flammability of manually planted trees compared with naturally grown trees.
Everything you said about net zero and greenwashing also is pretty much how I see it too, from doing a formal systems analysis of the energy problem long term now.
The source problem that I think you are missing, is the driver of profit.
This is will upset plans to just trust nobody will break any laws if we don't have explicit law and order.
The reason most crime happens is we are obliged to seek profit for life. We need to do this just to get the 150 or so Joules per second we each need to consume 24/7 to stay alive.
We each have to compete with all other humans, and actually all other life for that, as stands. Our perception of it, and the artifficially enforced nature of it is that it comes from finite sources, therefore stopping others from getting theirs increases the likeliehood we might get ours a little easier.
And all of it, in this system as stands, has to come extracted from Earth, because the mechanism of profit fundamentally depends on this. Profit is this, the energy that comes out of the planet, is what we see when we make a profitable transaction, yet we see it as something magical, money effortlessly making more money, isn't it a amazing? But actually its a sleight of hand, an energy con, the planet was always the victim losing far more energy than we can ever get from the transaction, and a lot of it becomes heat which would not exist if we didn't do the profitable transaction.
So that is what has to change.
We can do it by issuing free money honestly announced as monetising the economic product created from solar energy historically and ongoing.
Reception of that by all people (Its a lot, a very generous UBI), would remove the motivation for most crimes to be committed. Also it would be almost impossible to amass large sums of capital, because there would be the continuous on tap money coming in, why would we bother saving, if we have guaranteed, unconditional income.
The restuarants you mentioned, all doing it for money would probably just stop doing busines, but they would be instantly replaced by many more folk offering to do it for nothing, because they like it, it is their art, their outlet, to wow us with creative food. We saw a little of how this would work during covid, though mainstream elite funded media has almost wiped out the history, most of us will still remember, oil going negative priced, the environment spike of recovery, the dollar value itself going up not down, folk flooding markets with free money were actually voting like elites, but with the difference they were not interested in profit, only in saving the businesses and products they valued, the things ordinary folk wanted to see saved, that was pure fine grained democracy just for an instant, but the elites almost lost control, they soon stopped it, and calculated the perpetrator. This is what he really did wrong, that upset them, it seems to me, he almost overturned their privelige, which we should see now is fully dependent on energy extracted from the planet.
Sorry war and peace but it isn't simple to explain, and you are normally so on the nail with most things, you deserve a full explanation without having to go search it out. It is understandable you might not yet see the full picture yet, it comes with an awful lot of years and some unusual training to overcome the effects of commodification of education, that happened to all of us.
In any case I am always humbled by your obvious in depth knowledge of the shenanigans going on online, but the energy problem is something a little different, I hope you agree.
NB. I just proof-read above, and smell the presence of a very familiar algo at work, most likely prompt-engineered to make profit for the prompter.
