You know I see you as a little different from the average doomer, I think you seek actual truth, rather than believing mainstream hype and even mainstream science where that has been lacking or misplaced, even when you make sensationalist posts like this, (that I try too sometimes), I think you seek truth, and that puts us on the same side, we want the same, because we know that deep down, the crisis is entirely human made, and avoidable, and we genuinely want to know how to fix the problem.
I am never done criticising the deceptive language of renewables, anyone that seriously wants to fix the problem should drop that term because it enables a world of Enshittification, usually for profit, which to me lies right at the heart of the issue.
Profit itself is the unspeakable, unquestionable, deceptive, lying beast that we really need to take apart and dissect to understand it, kill it, stop feeding it.
It lives on energy, not just in oil but in food, all energy resources, everything taken from the planet that was not heat, but we convert at least part of it immediately to heat, the energy lost in refinement and extraction, then we derive energy from it to do work, heat us, cool us, and feed our metabolisms. Included in the exhaust from both us, and all the non-human systems, is yet more heat, and when we die it all goes to heat anyhow.
So we should expect that when we take all the known energy lost in extraction and refinement, and add it to the energy in all profit, converted at market rates of KWhrs, and apply this to the thermal mass of the planet, we should get an approximation of the actual temperature rise measured, and look, we do! It's easily done now with the positive Ai.
Notice we didn't even need to talk about greenhouse gases in an adiabatic atmosphere, saving an awful lot of energy associated with all the arguments and profit made around that.
Cutting to the chase, is something we really need to do to short-circuit the energy wasted in, and by Enshittification.
We do that by mathematically signing energy, and the products from it, positive if it adds to the planet, negative if extracted from the planet.
That done we can immediately start to work out what increases entropy and what decreases it (It's all temperature), In other words, we can quickly work out what is creation vs what is destruction.
On growth, it's bad and unsustainable if it's done by mathematically negative energy but good and infinitely sustainable if done on positive energy.
And that's it, the end of the bullshit, nothing could be simpler.
Creation, and the beginning of truly creative growth, the adult phase of humanity, starts, when we start to issue solar indexed stimulus to everyone needing it, to start putting the energy of the sun to work, cooling the planet.
Until then we are lost in the old world of Enshittopia which is completely unnecessary now.
