You can find the real history if you look for it, its all at our fingertips now. But its a distraction of detail, if we are at all interested in fixing the global energy problem underlying all the wrongs we are seeing, including being done to the planet, by us ourselves mostly unwittingly. We shouldn't waste time and energy trying to work out who is responsible for what, actually nobody is individually responsible for anything, we are all energy slaves, from the richest to the poorest, working for the real beast, the emergent property associated with us all locked into working for the energy lie of profit, extracting all energy from the planet without even realising the part we each play in it.
