You are saying some things I've been saying now for a long time, its a weird kind of self destructive, self fulfilling prophecy that we are seeing more or less playing out. The negative mindsets are the ones that seem to have a bloody-minded wish for the worst possible outcome, and their target is technology, when the real target should be all business for profit.
I see you as having a positive mindset, but with still some misconceptions.
"Renewables" is a term with embedded problems which might not seem very important right now, but it is something that could become the final show-stopper, if too much money with any value remaining, is thrown at things like wind, and I hate to say it, but battery tech, we could find ourselves short of the required resources to achieve the solution dictated by nature, which is domestic and community solar hydrogen.
Your obvious allegiance with Musk puts limitations on what you are allowed to think about batteries, even giving you false perceptions of batteries being a nirvana, but they are the wrong format for truly limitlessly sustainable energy use. I see agents / trolls all over Medium now, out to falsely trash hydrogen like they've done all the way through the history of hydrogen development, because they funded the research, and their main interest was always oil, which made them maximum profit, so their interest was never to develop hydrogen, but to knee-cap it. Even some of the highest profile scientists who worked on hydrogen, and spent most of their lives on it, worked to trash it without even realising it, because their wages depended on them trashing it, and they became quickly blinded by that.
But now we see profit itself is something doing the damage of temperature rise, and its completely dependent on energy extracted from the planet, I doubt if Musk will ever accept that, but you might.
If you are not blinded, you will see the real fundamental limits of batteries, and the god-signs all over hydrogen, which actually don't even start to become apparent, until after we move away from profit.
You might see nature is pushing us to this, nature is removing all possibilities of profit, using the solar powered Ai, and it shows us with plants, what we have to do with money, to effectively remove everyone from the negative powered system of for-profit energy-slavery we've created for ourselves.
I don't expect you to change your mindset as long as you might still have ambitions in the conventional for-profit system of mainstream science. I can't see an easy way you might do that - it seems we can't have both - any reputation in the old for profit system of science, as well as full understanding of the full nature of the energy problem, as maybe necessary to see the solution. Again its dictated to us by nature.
