Yep, this pretty much sums up how I see it too, thanks for posting.
Trouble is, most readers probably interpret the post as political, because capitalism is often associated with a particular type of political leadership, (as opposed to communism, or socialism) but it isn’t, not really, it is more of a religion which can be practiced by any party, replacing "Thou shalt not kill", with "Thou shalt make profit".
Nowhere have we seen it more starkly than in the covid vaccine response.
Gone also are any hopes that the climate crisis will ever be fixed as long as we are driven by profiit.
The only solution to all of this, it seems to me, is to align money wiith the energy of the sun.
By doing that, at some point it will start to run free, because the energy of the sun is free, backed by more authority than any bank, the energy that creates everything we know; The energy of the sun.
We saw a glimpse of what can be done with free money, when $4Tn stimulus was issued in US in one month, oil went negatively priced, the only commodity to do so in history, shares in good yet bankrupt companies soared, the dollar value went up, gold languished, and traditional investors including Warren Buffet ran for the hills crying foul.
For the first time in history ordinary people were trading in markets with free money, with no intention to profit, they were donating.
So there we saw what a market free of profit actually is; pure fine-grained democracy, probably the only glimpse we’ve ever had of it.
I believe free money, money-as-sunlight is actually happening, even under the radars of most governments and investors, by the phenomenon of Bitcoin.
Ironically, and paradoxically, they are investing in the end of capitalism.
A more poetic end to capitalism is difficult to imagine. In fact any other end to capitalism is hard to imagine, it seems to me.
Bring it on, hopefully before too much longer, as we see, it is already very urgently needed to remedy something like fifty million people in the world, in the most recently war ravaged countries now facing immediate famine.
Further, the banks could turn all of this around tomorrow, by seizing the initiative, pre-empting the Bitcoin outcome, they could acknowledge that the financial debt of capitalism is actually an energy deficit to our planet, and immediately issue the funds needed to fix the problems.
After all, it was they who removed the funding from the last project offering public free energy, by the defunding of Nikolai Tesla by JP Morgan around 120 years ago.
How different the world could have been.
But it is not too late to make amends.
