Yay, at last some common sense. Though I am not a huge fan of wind power either, I believe it all has to go solar sooner or later but if wind serves an intermediate role that maybe investors are happier with, all good. (When are we going drop the bullshit "Renewables" terminology?) But more importantly, the returns on solar are hugely underestimated. The first country going completely solar will find its economy much stronger than expected due to "Kardashev Money" effects (Look it up, I'd like your opinion there!).
But they will need to be careful not to be distracted by the prospect of new bullshit business in a new military build-up, which seems to be coming about as a result of the actions of Putin.
Achieving that would be a perfect victory for Putin, I would say.
They could end up back in a drive for nuclear weapons, which would be a very strong driver also for nuclear power.
Competing with Russia (And France) playing the same game would not be the best way to defuse the conflict in Europe, I think.
Sorry to keep using the word bullshit, but I think it is important to maintain a link between the formal "Bullshit Jobs" defined by David Graeber, and fossil fueled energy wastage. That is another thing hugely underestimated, the reduction of power requirements which will come about by replacement of Bullshit industry by Kardashev Money is something that really should be chased by academics, honestly, there is a public research coup right there.
