Why would you need finitism, if you were not concerned about commodification? We would not need commodification if there was nothing to be gained by it.
Apple gives you finitism, so that you can switch a little of your time spent, from endlessly browsing their content, to earning the money you need to buy their physical products.
They've got that quite well thought out, I think.
But what if you didn't need to earn at all, would that not be better?
