Why not just scrap copyright? And while we are at it, scrap patent law?
Both are things benefiting folk who maybe created something of value at some point, but what is the value of creation, when its benefits are restricted only to the creator and their funders?
The traditional argument is that creators would not create anything if they didn't have the funds needed to do the creation, so they need investor support, and investors will only support if they see a business offering financial returns for their money invested, and this can only be guaranteed by being able to enforce copyright / patents.
So, why not provide all with the unconditional funds needed to create, and to live without needing to invest in things, or even to create, and patent and copyright laws are no longer needed.
Only the truly creative will choose to create after there is no longer financial pressure on them to create, therefore the quality of all creations, and in fact all work done of any kind, will improve in a way we can only imagine.
This can be done with a solar hydrogen ecology, which we now have the technology to do, and have even started with already 20% capacity on average in all developed countries now being domestic and community solar, it is as yet unmonetised.
Monetising it, therefore reversing the demands made by governments for ever more tax, to cover shortfalls due to shrinkage of utilities energy business, to something they instead give out to all people, backed by the valuable Joules coming in for free from the sun, and circulated by hydrogen powered transportation, whilst cleaning and circulating water, not only are all people, including governments and money issuers themselves then appropriately rewarded for their hard work, and all creations, but the planet is saved.
It is a no-brainer when all the Systems Analysis is done and we can see all of this clearly.
