Whilst I don't agree with all of your reasoning here, I agree with your basic instinct, to dig through the crisis, and we will see energy from the sun coming for free,in fact better than free, we will be paid for using it, when we are completely solar powered (See "Kardashev Money").
To me there is a stack of energy wasted in Bullshit industry and jobs, including things like "Carbon sequestration", which we will cut out by going all solar, which will reduce our ultimate demand to a fraction of what it is, although we will still see a need to do some work fixing damage done, it won't be for long after total solar.
