Whilst I am with you on wishing to see evidence of non human extraterrestrial life or intelligence, the way you used the above fact was a little dishonest, by not including context. I was educated as a Christian throughout my earliest years, and I bet many actual astronauts in the days of Apollo etc were loosely Christians. So it doesn't stand in the way of technical education or inclination as I guess you might be implying or that others might infer.
Why make this poke at the Vatican, who obviously had to know always the Earth was not the centre of the universe, despite maybe making an explicit statement on the date you identify. What is it you think it has done, that it deserves to be sideswiped at every opportunity?
