Whatever we want to think of Brand, we have to keep in mind also it is dead easy and very tempting, even financially, to accuse folk, especially famous folk, of doing things they didn't do.
I don't like Brand much because what I remember of him, he was a very unlikeable character when he was on UK TV.
But my twenty year old daughter enlightened me to his more recent stuff on youtube etc, I reluctantly had a look and have to admit, it's pretty much on the nail. He has obviously changed a lot.
He's a much needed icon for kids who want to make some sense of the messed up world of today, his loss will really impact kids.
We remember the folk that appear guilty much more vividly than the ones who were proven innocent but their lives were shattered anyway.
Alex Salmond, Cilff Richard, Kevin Spacey are only a few of the names we probably don't think much about now, but they were all very publicly accused of stuff like this and their lives ruined by it, before finally being found innocent.
They get no justice for their lives being ruined.
It's a mob lynching mentality to target them on hearsay before all the facts are known.
