What you have described looks like the standard “Enlightened” scientific mindset.

As far as I can see, it appears to be failing, since, in the 150 years or so since that mindset became fashionable, we created a world which is unsustainable, as now even acknowledged by the scientific community.

You might not think mindset has much to do with that, but it looks to me like it has everything to do with it.

It looks absolutely at the root of our problems as a species, as was warned in some of the religious texts.

Isn’t that enough reason to look again whether or not we should be taking it more seriously?

Why else are they there, these artifacts, if not as guidance for our long term survival. What else can be their purpose?
