What we see in many cases is the idea not only being testable, but testing negative, like in the case of the big bang theory, but still science persists with the theory. And now we can see there are financial reasons that theories like the big bang tend to stubbornly persist, despite them now standing in the way of a common sense understanding of energy, which we need to have in order to see how to fix the global energy problem causing the planet to burn.
This doesn't help science much imho.
The practice of car manufacturers using fudge factors in their ECUs, to switch in and out engine power restrictions, depending on whether or not emissions testing was underway, was exposed as being a little dishonest.
But fudge factors used to make the big bang theory fit in the jigsaw of knowledge is perfectly fine.
Why doesn't that sound strange to scientists supporting the big bang theory?
