Well done, thanks for posting. I used to do a one mile swim event here in UK, did for a few years, it was for the British Heart Fountation. I am guessing our water in the English channel is cooler than where you were, it takes about twenty minutes to do the swim on a good day, but that is about as long as anyone would want to be swimming in that temperature of water, those of us choosing not to wear wetsuits come out blue, with many extremities completely numb, if you know what I mean. I don't think the event will be happening so much now, since more than fifty contestants of a recent Triathlon event, which involves a swim, came down with diarroeah and sickness, proving that our government made a big mistake by allowing the privatised sewer treatment plants to start dumping raw sewerage in the rivers and seas around UK again, to save some money of course.
We are going backwards, for profit, unfortunately.
