Weapons poured into Ukraine, to the tune of many billions of dollars, mostly being destroyed but many likely to end up in the hands of psychopaths running around Europe.

Weapons in the hands of everyone in the US, who wants one, to defend themselves against others who already have them.

Children being massacred in schools, by those weapons.

Police killing thousands with them every year.

Criminals killing thousands with them every year.

Thousands of nuclear weapons trained on the opposites of each side of East and West.

"Authorities" warning us of imminent hunger on the one hand, whilst putting every sanction possible, to escalate hunger.

"Hunger games" on TV as "Entertainment".

Looks like almost perfect conditioning for actual real life hunger games to me.

Is there some kind of evil force behind it?

Maybe yes, maybe no.

Personally I have come to the conclusion that in order to become interplanetary, we have to learn how to ditch profit, and our requisite handling of capital for gain.

I think we agree we need to look to the sun, which is the only actual source of energy, and it is non-profit, something donated to us.

I think that goes for any species.

We tend to project our own profit driven mindset onto our ideas of aliens, so we assume they would be hostile, looking to colonise us.

But if they were solar powered, as surely they would have to be, they are non-profit.

Perhaps they know that the only way we could possibly divorce ourselves from the sun, is to discover how to create fusion first.

Perhaps they saw this before, witnessing a species harnessing fusion power, enabling their most vicious minority to control others as perpetual slaves indefinitely, removing all chances and all knowledge of them ever gaining equivalent privilege from solar power, by destroying all capability of using it.

They could have done that by implementing geo-Engineering. That would have created an imbalance in reflectivity of their planet, which would have literally thrown their planet out of orbit, away from their sun.

Then no-one on their planet could use solar. Their only source of power would have been the fusion, on a dark planet, wandering through space, their population of slaves controlled, and even mind controlled, by the vicious minority.

And maybe they learned to use that fusion, to control the travel of their planet, to "Aim" it at specific targets they wished to colonise.

Being on a dark planet for many generationss, their skin would have become accustomed to no sun, it would be white, sensitive to the rays of sunlight.

And maybe they targeted other planets, with natives living from their sun, destined to always do so, with no intervention.

So they intervened, and the existing populations of darker skinned natives, oblivious to the idea of aggression, were wiped out, the remainder subdued with all formal history of how they lived, wiped out also.

Maybe we could be the product of such an intervention, and other alien species out there, know this.

Maybe they made an agreement, if we go solar powered, the good guys come for us, and we join their clan.

If we go fusion powered, the bad guys come for us, and we join their clan.

Is this a flight of my imagination?

I don't know.

As a rule of thumb, I would say if they arrive by discrete spacecraft, they are the good guys.

But if they arrive on a planet, they are the bad guys.

I wish someone could give me logic which was stronger, arguing differently, because if it is true, we are in even deeper shit than we can possibly imagine.
