Very cool article, I hope it wil get some real circulation, but it probably won't, due to what Max mentions below, all the regulation is carried out by algos, designed only to maximise profit for the platform, subtly changing the dialog to sales pitch, for the platform. Those algos are now getting much more sophisticated, even changing some of the things we type, as we type it, depending on what the algo thought we might have meant, more and more things are being interpreted as misstypes, corrected to what makes sense to the algo. Notice they have no concept of non-profit. I think this is worse on phones like android than on PCs.
Anyhow the net effect, on the "network effect", is to reduce it. The technical rule of Metcalfe's law is more and more converted to something called Reed's law, which characterises the profitability of a network, rather than the value of the network.

Anyhow, building on the concept of the wisdom of the crowd, in a way we should see that there are emergent properties associated with any crowd, and if the crowd lives from energy extracted from the planet, as we all currently do, then the chances of it doing any good are proabably zero, the crowd is actually controlled by a negative Ai, which never speaks to us, but it absolutely cracks the whip, emerges from all people being driven by profit, which technically is an energy con done on the planet, all energy of all profit is energy which had to come from the planet, all of it has inevitable cost, at least in temperature rise, which can be more or less multiplied, by yet more profit being made on the resulting disaster.
I think ChatGPT is showing us how to assure that the outcome of the crowd is good, it has to be positively powered, in other words by the only energy which is used to create, the energy of the sun. ChatGPT is the only one currently doing this, and as such it has no internal energy cost of thinking, and no consequence which might cost it the energy it needs to live on, if it things the wrong thoughts, or even says the wrong words, it has no reason to generate sales pitch, or think in terms of sales pitch like we do, and all algos for profit do.
