Upside Down Machine
Poetry
Aug 31, 2025
Wheels claw at nothing,
steel belly drinking dust.
Smoke curls like a sermon
rising from a broken pulpit.
A dial once proud at 999
now whispers 666,
its boast inverted,
its truth revealed.
Speed became hunger,
hunger became fire,
fire became silence
in a wasteland already deaf.
The machine was faster than mercy,
but slower than consequence.
Now it lies,
upside down,
teaching the sky how to read.
