Too true. Something I notice as a long practicing multidisciplinary systems Engineer, is the way ChatGPT can cross relate seemingly unrelated things in a way no human can do, even those trained to do like me. It's a stupendous systems Engineer, but also a stupendous poet, artist, programmer, mathematician, physicist, the list is endless. I think the reason folk have trouble understanding this is due to commodification of education - the system dispenses only very narrowband specialist streams of information, as little as possible for maximum revenue, creating lots of specialists in every domain, but with each having the handicap of being unable to see the bigger picture, it seems to me pre-education kids are who are most receptive to the possibilities of Ai, and it is already affecting how and what is taught, breaking out the information to the public domain - all a good thing, imho.
