To me religion is much more important than we realise or credit. I think without them we would have been extinct a long time ago. I think it is logical religions were created by higher beings, from whom we could well be descended, and towards whom we might aspire, and one day become something like.

I think religions were all designed for a purpose, the whole of which would not become clear to us, until we evolved to understand.

I think we are getting close to that point now, possibly the end times as described in some religions.

I was non religious from an early age after losing my beautiful innocent kid sister aged seven to kidney cancer, until late forties, when it came back into my attention, now ten years ago.

Now, I am seeing many relationships between how we do things in formal Systems Engineering, and how "Gods" might have done things in the past.

In Systems Engineering any and all religions relate to the system of humanity as safety guidelines, or a regulatory framework.

My fav religion now just out of interest is the ancient African religion of Yoruba. It is multi-deity, acknowledging that none are perfect, they all have the imperfections of humans, but we can learn a lot from the associated folklore, which smacks of ancient technology, even covering things like decentralisation, and explains the mathematical genius we see in some tribal African people who were/are still considered "Illiterate" by conventional definitions.

So I see your article as maybe a little rough on religions. But can't blame you, I remember thinking the same.

All views are valid in any case, all needed, I think.
