To me it seems logical intelligence is how much we know about nature, there are most likely species who know much more about nature than we do, just because they have been around much longer, and we may even be related to them, they may have created us, hence they are who we refer to as gods, but eventually we might qualify as gods ourselves, creating other species, if we can get over what appears to be right now, the "end times".
Mathematics then would not be something we created, just a feature of nature that we uncovered, thus inherited, nor would it be something gods created either.
I think conventional science has a problem with that concept, even if it is just simple observation, because science has essentially become profit driven since diverging from religion, it has operated on the basis of information capitalism (hence "intellectual property"), since the "enlightenment", which actually would be more appropriately identified as "Endarkenment", in my opinion.
