To me it looks pretty straightforward, in the cases of both Ukraine and Palestine, the force who cracked and reponded with explicit force of violence is always the one in the wrong, it's like any situation where one neighbor or domestic partner carries out a war of slow motion torture against the other for years and years, and finally when the other cracks and turns to violence, everyone screams "no you can't do that", and now the boot is completely on the other foot, the punishment for cracking is genocide, at least against the Palestinians - Russia is too big to genocide but we can be sure if Europe had the power to do it, it would be being done right now, by us, the original colonial powers of Europe.
And it's all about energy, not just fossil fuels, it's the availability in the environment, or rather the lack of it, that we are responding to, very badly, We perceive the shortage of it by the dwindling value of money, since money is energy, always, it reflects on how easy or difficult it is to make profit, and profit is energy extracted from the planet, always, it's an energy con, it can never come from the sun because the sun makes no deals, there is nothing asked in return for any of the energy it gives, it's all for free. It's only us humans that do deliberate scarification of energy so others can't have life from it, this is the same instinct as might have hoarded grain for seven years, on the strength of dreams predicting the future, grain which could otherwise have been sown, with the result that a famine was experienced for seven years, with only the stored grain available at cost to those who could afford it, the same mentality as dreams up world threatening viruses which if cured would remove all possibilities of profit, etc, etc, we might recognise a familiar pattern there, it's the pattern of prophesies being fulfilled by the actions of the prophets, always for profit, all of it is done under the control of an emergent property which has itself an energy requirement which takes precedence over all others, including even those at the tops of governments, monarchies, and big corporates, we are all their energy slaves, and we are all kept in line by scarcity enforcement, and when that fails, as it has to ultimately, genocide, and a burning planet, if we can't stop the stupid, dishonest business of profit.
