Humans under stress need more, but for less time. We don't live so long if we burn brighter, the movie blade runner was right about that, only we maybe never realised it applies to humans also.
We are in process of watching Genocide occur blow by blow via modern media, things more horrendous than we were capable of believing possible in a modern world, we thought we'd left barbarism including even child killing behind long ago.
That accepted, as seems to be happening, there is not much else remaining for us to be completely subjugated by whichever power or authority turns out to be most violent, most feared.
The authorities now could start crucifying folk again to make examples of folk that dared to buck authority, and no-one would say much about it, the way things are, we could be back to all-out explicit slavery in no time at all. Everyone would say "it's not my fault, not me doing the deed, it's not happening in my backyard".
But we are all part of it, the for-profit system, it's how we live, we actually have no choice.
Where it ends up, is it eventually does come to our backyard, and it eventually is us doing the deed, because we have to, to live.
All of this is because we treat economics and money which is energy, always physically, as something in a closed box, whilst the physical energy system on Earth is not closed.
It has the sun shining in from outside supplying all the energy we know, so the box is obviously not closed.
We even use faulty versions of scientific concepts to try to argue that it is, I see the concepts of 2nd and now 4th law thermodynamics being argued to somehow prove we are in a closed, dying system, when we actually are not, it's all self imposed, if we did the right thing, which would be to maximise what we use of solar, removing our dependence from extracted energy, all scarcity is removed.
But we don't do it because very few folk seem to have any faith that it would work, despite folk like me, arguably energy and technological experts assuring that it would work, we've analysed it to death, every way possible, with numbers, models, simulations, all the numbers, but still nobody believes it because we think we never saw it before in history.
Key to doing it is issuance of solar indexed stimulus which would completely remove our dependence on getting money from employment. In other words it would remove us from being dependent on the for-profit system, thus it would remove us from being dependent on energy extracted from the planet, and our need to keep perpetuating the inhumane system of slavery that it is and always has been in our known experience.
Not many work happily in that old system, happiness is not just working at something we enjoy but being adequately rewarded for it.
But as the energy in the environment now gets thinner and thinner, we are having to accept ever reducing rewards at the lowest levels, progressively working up through the hierarchy of the privelidged, to now nobody being happy with the returns, not even billionaires, they can never have enough, because the energy value of money is dropping like a stone, and the reason it's dropping is because it is increasingly becoming less representative of the actual growing economic product, which is everything produced from solar energy.
Only money issued for free can represent product created by energy received for free. The sun asks nothing in return for the energy it delivered to us, other than maybe we use it, or burn.
The planetary rising temperature is actually happening because we don't use enough of it.
Is it a coincidence that the solution being suggested by ever more powerful bodies of VC investors is to put a sun shield up, or an umbrella of some kind, to shield us from the sun's rays, that somehow they see as the source of the harm?
I don't know, but it's a very wierd reaction, to a shortage of energy availability, to make it even scarcer, and to eliminate actually all chances of eliminating the scarcity.
We can only deduce this as a wish of some people to retain the system of energy slavery, which is only possible by energy extracted from the planet, practical use of which is ever depleting.
Otherwise, we could eliminate the scarcity and repair the damage done to the planet very quick. We could have complete energy independence using domestic and community solar backed by hydrogen, keeping all aerospace in the air whilst making all bullshit business and associated bullshit jobs that nobody wants to do and not required, in that new world of plenty, redundant within only a couple of years.
We could pay back all the energy debt created by humanity on Earth in our history in about 40 years by my reckoning. This would result in the replacement of all greenery lost in history including in deserts, all water replaced, all food chains fully recovered, coral regrown, all of it is replaceable, repairable, if we could just ditch the stupid game of profit.

Let's cut it short and say no more to working in bullshit jobs, working at things we'd prefer not to be working at, getting paid less and less whilst watching endless atrocity and destruction of human possibility, endless negativity.
