I agree with all of your sentiments and most of your observations
But to me it looks like a mistake to think that capitalism is only an ideology, with an opposite of socialism.
That is the reason not many can see the way out, it seems to me.
Real capitalism is physical, practiced by all political ideologies we've seen so far, with an opposite I would call energyism.
Caoitalism is the handling of all energy as capital. We do it not realising that what we actually need and seek is energy.
We don't realise this because we are never taught about energy and economy together.
Like you define, economists are a kind of specialist, and so are Engineers, and physicists.
None, are taught how those systems relate to one another.
I am an Engineer of thirty years, but was never taught anything about how economy works.
So I've had to self learn the parts of economy I understand relate to the physical world.
Money, is something that can either flow or be stored, just like any fluid or nutrient, which transports energy from source to consumer.
In nature, physical energy is generated uniquely in the sun, radiates from there, to Earth, where the plants then convert it to all forms of nutrients which then flow to all other life.
But we get our energy from money, which is represented by capital, such as oil, gold, bitcoin, grain, or just tokens representing those, and even debt, and labour.
All of our assets, commodities, and currencies, anything that can be stated as a number in an account, represent capital; Joules.
None of it so far represents physical power, which is Joules per second.
So far we have not represented that, because the only way it can be represented is by continuous issuance.
Because continuous issuance would destroy all value in capital.
All investments would be null and void in the presence of continuous issuance.
Hence capitalists, true capitalists, are horrified at the thought.
All that effort of a lifetime scraping together a nest-egg, pension, savings, or conning, killing, stealing a fortune, would be for nothing, if everyone ends up getting it for free.
But that is the only way we can connect to the only actual source of energy, it involves no capital, only a flow of energy, which then can be used to create capital, but by anyone, with almost no effort, after implementation.
See I just explained physical capitalism with not a mention of politics.
It transcends politics, it is physical, and it is a physical impossibility that we could survive forever extracting all of our energy from the limited stores of Earth.
Survival of our species is realising this, and plugging into the energy of the sun, before too much more damage is done.
The real Grand Ponzi is the Energy Ponzi.
Our financial debt actually translates to an energy deficit to our planet which can only be paid back down by utilisation of the energy of the sun.
More is in the story about "Kardashev Money", and "The Money-fuel Tree", for anyone interested.
