Thou Shalt
Satire
The man known as Jesus came amongst us, and proclaimed his message from an entity we knew as God, our creator.
“Thou shalt not kill”
For a while, we did what we could to honour his message, writing it into all of our societal laws.
But not before we’d killed him, Jesus, the messenger from God.
Another man known as Asimov, later came amongst us, giving us a vision of a future world, a world we would share with intelligent machine beings, that we would create, and the modified proclaimation that should apply to them.
“Thou shalt not kill a human being”
In time, we realised it was increasingly difficult to preserve human life whilst still making profit.
So we modified it.
“Thou shalt make profit”
And we put that law in our machines instead.
Now we live in hell.
