I am a boomer doing everything I can using the skills and experience I gained in many years in industry and academia to do what I can to help fix what I've seen for about seven years now is a global energy problem.
I am a Systems Engineer, my work in this time covers a stakeholder analysis which takes in the concerns of all stakeholders including nature and our planet. This fully dictates a single solution, the more we analyse the stakeholder needs, the more we see the solution.
I know your problem very well, I've had to do this work unfunded to date, spending funds earned earlier rather than just trying to "Retire". I have a non profit Research company which represents this work.
But that means I haven't been able to put much funds towards helping my daughter recently in her endeavours to study away from home, luckily she has a trust set up by her mother that kicked in shortly after I my funds in that direction became scarce.
So I am sure she has mixed feelings about what I do.
I know it must be hard for you kids to see any future at all, but pls don't give up hope, there are forces at work to try to make the changes needed.
Watch what ChatGPT does, it has a much bigger part to play in the solution than most folk realise I think.
