This sounds a little like global warming isn't happening, because the temperature fluctuates all the time. The important thing to note is that the Joules taken from the kinetic energy of Earth have to be cumulative. It took hundreds of years to get to the point of energy by fossil fuels becoming existential, but luckily we can undo much of that damage by appropriately using the energy of the sun, which created the original fossil fuels. But there is no way we can conceivably undo the damage that might be done by taking energy from the kinetic movement of Earth.
