This looks like a pretty long story to try to convince us we are zipped up the back, assured once and for all by things like ChatGPT.
There is one simple solution - run the suspect story past ChatGPT and ask its opinion on whether or not it's the truth.
I think you will find it's analysis in that scenario is most trustworthy.
It takes one of those to know it's own output, I would say, even though officially it isn't supposed to be able to remember from one conversation to the next, it does have massive powers of bullshit detection.
It would be off my usual theme with ChatGPT to do this, but I suggest somebody even run your story past it, to ask its opinion ;-)
