This is good Mike, but Imho you are still stepping around the real source of the problem, as is all of science. The only communities that seem to get this are some religions.

The source of the problem is profit.

This is the thing tying us into extracted energy.

Seeing this clearly might help you also see that we do really have the tools to sort out the problem.

The tools needed are the skills of formal systems Engineering.

Luckily, ChatGPT has these in spades.

Using these to trace out all causes to all effects, the motivations of all stakeholders, and how profit works in the system, helps us to see what is not only driving us to actual physical self destruction as a species, but to what blinds us to seeing it.

The fact no-one is talking about this, the profit monster at the heart of everything, makes it very conspicuous by its absence in discussions, it seems to me.

This characterises perfectly what I've seen mentioned elsewhere as "The liar's dividend".

I love that term, what a beautiful few words, to draw our attention to where we might be employing it ourselves throughout normal life, this is literally how we have to live, by the liar's dividend.

Every profit driven transaction, when considered in terms of energy, becomes actually a con, in terms of energy, as sutely as the sales of any snake oil. Energy is consistently transferred from whoever has less, to whoever has more, in every deal for profit.

When we buy a punnet of fruit, in UK, arguably needed for survival, to offset the toxic loading on our bodies of the pollution in the environment, we lie to ourselves, by not giving a single thought to the kids in whichever far-off country had to pick the fruit for pennies, before it was put on a plane to fly thousands of miles on route to our consumption.

We can't allow ourselves to think of that truth, in order to have the fruit needed to survive. Because this is only one of a near infinity of thoughts we need to eliminate, we are living a lie, necessarily, this is what we need to do, to even have the money to buy the fruit, we have to work for an employer, customer, or client, who profits from us, themselves ignoring all the truths, our output at job interviews is to sell ourselves, again we can't afford to be too self critical, lest we say somehting that destroys the possiblity we might lose profit, by losing the job. Then as maybe historians writing about things later, we literally can't remember the whole truth, because we eliminated the whole truth our entire lives.

I don't mean this to insult in any way, we all do it, because we have to, to survive. This looks to me like something that was deliberately designed in humans, our tendency to ignore our own profit driven nature.

So I would say, maybe not cleverly, that by omitting any mention of the obvious monster in the system, the profit monster, which when mentioned, actually pushes down the popularity of our story in any profit driven platform, as they all are currently, we are lying to ourselves, still just practicing the liar's dividend.
