This is a tough one, to me, as I have a good friend in the real world who swears by writing anonymously, but I just can't get with it. He tends to trash a pseudonym when proven wrong, or is met with mass disapproval, so I argue there is no real skin in the game in his case, and yet anonymous writers can generate huge followings.
