This article won't age very well, given that things changed a lot in the data source you quoted, the EIA. Either they had it wrong before, or the US has suddenly gone from 1.7%, to quite a bit more, maybe ten times more solar installed.

No surprise, since we saw also Vietnam go from nothing, to 16.5 GW solar, more than eight times their grid capacity, in about 18 months, again proving your article to be incorrect.

Why didn't you use the latest EIA data?

I would love to know why you wish to kick solar so much, what is it that you fundamentally have against it? Actually, who even are you? Why should we not be asking that question, when we realise how much of a propaganda job you are trying to pull here?
