There is one nugget of wisdom there that I would agree with: think of what is better for the species, rather than what might be best for self, and things will work out just fine, if we can all do that.
This is how we will need to think, when the majority of people will not have the money needed to live.
I've explained why this will happen, and is happening, why all business is finding it more and more difficult to turn a profit, why the vast majority of individuals are, and will progressively fail to generate enough wealth to keep the roofs over their / our heads, and food on their / our tables.
At the root of it all is energy, namely the depletion of the sources of it that we get from Earth, it is, and will manifest in the removal of all possibilities of profit, because profit bizarrely depends exclusively on energy from finite sources, at its heart, and yet those sources have to run out, and are running out, as far as profitable use of them goes.
If you see how this works, the bigger picture, then you'll see it is profit that is the thing dying, and we should celebrate that, rather than mourning or lamenting it's loss, actually it is a monster, it is responsible for much more harm than most of us realise, and really, we don't need it, we will ultimately be much better off without it.
What everyone, sooner or later, will be forced to do, is to demand money for free,
I know this will rub many people up the wrong way, me saying they / we will all be reduced to begging, you managed to avoid it so far in Sri Lanka Indi, due to you having more capital at your disposal than average amongst Sri Lankans, but this will come to you too, as all western countries go "down the plughole", unless things are short circuited, the only way they can be, by money issuers consenting to begin printing money representing the only energy product actually increasing, despite being ignored to date, by money issuers, that is domestic and community solar.
We are turning to it, as surely as leaves form on a plant, and we will adapt to it, as surely as every plant adapts to it, after those leaves start to form.
Think of the catastrophic change that has to happen within the plant, when the function of the nutrients within it has to change, from doing the work required to draw energy up from Earth, necessary to grow the plant to the point it forms leaves, to enabling energy to flow downwards, to the the roots of the plant, and out to Earth.
Every plant has to do this, to supply the vast majority of energy required by all life on Earth, to all things. Everything that synthesises the energy of the sun has to do this. Firstly it has to develop physically to the point it can synthesise, before it can synthesise, and it has to do that by its own method of extracting energy from Earth.
Every plant pays back it's energy deficit to Earth, that it had to create, in order to get to the point it can synthesise, thousands of times over.
If we understand this, and how what is happening in the world of humanity right now is just our version of this,
our transition as a species from the limited energy sources on Earth, to the unlimited energy of the sun,
then we see how to work with it, what we individually need to do, to make it happen most easily, with least pain.
Money, is our human equivalent of nutrients, carrying out the same functionality in humanity, as the nutrients in plants.
In extraction mode, using the mechanism and leverage of profit, and debt, we hauled the energy we needed to get where we are now, up from Earth.
In that mode, we couldn't put an energy standard on money, but for a while there was a capital standard, which was effectively an amount of stored energy per token.
But since the difficulty of extracting energy has increased throughout time, as we depleted it, the amount of stored energy per money token had to decrease, resulting in the old gold standard being lost.
Hence what we see is inflation.
Now free energy, that is energy that comes from a source demanding nothing in return for that energy, the sun does not take payment, only gives, every Joule from it is truly for free, therfore money issued as debt can't enumerate or represent it.
So as long as we don't issue money for free, as needed, to represent and enumerate it, so as to satisfy the rule of Austrian Economics, that creation of product must be balanced by issue of money, and vice versa, money will continue to devalue towards nothing.
If you understand this then you understand why money has to be issued for free, to put things all things right.
In fact, rather than feeling any shame, you / we should feel proud that we all contributed to getting humanity to where it is at, the point of synthesis.
We've spent thousands of years of hard work to get to this point, now we deserve the reward, that comes from moving to synthesis, as a species, a share of the massive energy we will now put towards the creation of all things on Earth.
That will happen, by money coming to represent the energy captured from the sun, from the point it begins to be issued for free, onwards.
Rather than feeling any shame for demanding issue of this money, we should be proud to demand it, we worked for it.
As for dharma, I wouldn't lay claim to any of it, I am not glowing blue, just a long practicing Systems Engineer, doing my job, which is to assist everyone to see and understand the systemic view.
If you can't see it, despite my efforts, then I have to continue to seek a better way to do my job.
Indi you are right, there is collapse, and it will be catastrophic.
But it isn't the end, we will move into a different, much better world, that much we can be sure of, if we really see how things are are working.
We just don't know when the catalyst will happen, the issue of free money to all.
If you want to minimise the pain, I would advise all to demand as one, what we are owed, the free money to represent the free energy we all earned.
The sooner it is issued, the less pain there will be.
