The thing is, racism is not a problem in most South American countries.

There is generally a strong affection and acknowledgement of their mixed roots, nearly everyone has African origin connections in their family history.

The chant sounds more like a kind of lament, to me, that France might be taking the credit for African roots talent, whereas South American countries maybe don't do that so much.

My own perception of this is from being a big fan of South American music and dance, which is all from African origin, and now many South American countries are even going back to Yoruba related faith. I know this from having many friends in Cuba, after visiting there several times, South America is united by their African roots music and interrelated faith, and I also see a lot of good in Yoruba faith, personally Its my fav religion, if there was any.

So I think that chant is most likely being misinterpreted, its the opposite of what it might seem. We see the same kind of misinterpretation of the lyrics of South American music, which sings in praise of the African origin characteristics including skin color - its maybe racist, but in a positive sense, rather than negative, and this is often misinterpreted by white folk who have no clue of the culture behind it.

Surprising to see you writing about it as if by a dumb white person, dude :)
