The terminology of renewables confuses, unfortunately. The truth is we will have a very different world when we move to the only actual sustainable energy source, that is solar.
To remove that confusion, and thus hasten the switch, energy has to be mathematically signed, so as to propagate to all things.
Here is proof we are already moving to it, but not yet properly valuing it, because of the missing sign:
