The secret is to be less judgemental. None of us individually actually knows much at all. We certainly don't know anything for certain. We dont even know for sure what even is right and wrong. But we seem happy to condemn folk to death on that uncertainty, believing we have certainty.
The crowd, assisted by things like Ai, is who need to be the judge of all things, they / we need to be allowed to evaluate from first hand perspective, we need to see the sources of all the problems direct, rather than just get the second hand accounts of things via others.
This is why I would say Metcalfes law should be elevated to statutory.
Its a physical law we might all agree should be respected.
In essence it says nothing should be cancelled.
We should be free to cover our ears and eyes if we don't like what somebody is saying, but we'll never fix anything if we just shut down voices we don't like, or even try to control what they say.
Another observation, from experience, I'd say is there can be no such thing as true freedom of speech in platforms which exist for profit. It's impossible, either there is profit, or there is freedom of speech, can't have both, it seems to me.
