The religion that makes most sense to me lately, is Yoruba. It's interesting how in Cuba they've managed to synchretise it with Christianity, which makes the latter much more abstractly interpretable.
In Cuba they call this hybrid of Christianity with Yoruba "Santeria". In Brazil they have something similar "Candomble". Yoruba appears like this all over South America.
The lady you mentioned, if she genuinely feels a need to belong in some faith or another, might benefit by knowing about this.
