The reason I am not crazy about that word is that it implies already too late to do anything, which can be pretty damaging, whien it actually isn't too late, we just need to see what needs to be done, and do it.

As mentioned there is a solution, I am a systems Engineer who has effectively given up a continuing lucrative career to work on this, since seeing it coming around 2017 when working on PhD research work, but explaining it in any way people believe, and remember, seems impossible, not least because the pressure to believe it is "Too late", is enormous, generated also by the forces profiting most from the crisis, thus those wishing to see it continue to the bitter end.
