The problem is Musk is completely driven by profit. I assume this to be the reason he calls hydrogen "Stupid", despite the many, many, life saving and actually technology saving benefits that await from using it in a widespread solar powered domestic and community powered scenario, which if we are honest, looks inevitable, when we've studied the real trend of energy business away from centralised utilities energy buisiness.

If Musk could see and understand this, he would have to admit his plans for raping the Earth for Lithium for profit are actually the thing not only stupid, but likely fatal, given the temperature rise by E=MC squared is not time dependent but actually profit dependent, and we are already hitting the limit, with nature drawing the carpet out from under the ecoonomy in all places, because we have not yet begun to monetise the historical economic product created by domestic and community solar. Until we do that, the only way it can be done, by a solar indexed UBI or stimulus, we will see all the disaster and misery increase, because money is becoming progressively less representative of the only energy product truly of any value, adding to Earth instead of subtracting from it.

Will Musk ever understand this?

My money would be on no, if I had any to put on a flutter.

What is most disappointing about that, is that the original philosophy of Nikola Tesla, the namesake of his company, is being thrown to the wind by this ignorance. Tesla knew free energy had to mean free money, and said so to his only funder JP Morgan, and was cancelled, defunded, back then, before he got the chance to make free energy, and internet like connectivity for all, a reality.

So here we are more than 120 years later, two world wars, and a third brewing, with also global temperature rising seemingly unstoppably and irreversibly to the point where now the planet is burning, flooding, yet drying up, more species of life lost than we can count, and that loss accelerating, the loss of rainforests and other major components of photosynthetic life that used to put the energy of the sun to use as things other than heat, hundreds of millions of people migrating to try to avoid war and disaster, dying wholesale in the process.... and kids working in mines already to mine Lithium.

This is the world Musk is a champion of, by leading the charge into yet more death and destruction by profit - profit is fully dependent on energy extracted from Earth, it always was an energy con that can only be done with energy which doesn't give up without a fight, work has to be done to extract it, we are all enslaved to do that work or die.

Will Musk ever admit that?

I doubt it.
