The problem I see with this article is that you are measuring power consumption in terms of energy. Energy is Joules, power consumption is Joules per second. Kilowatts are Joules per second. Kilo-Watt hours are Joules. Actual consumption is much simpler just stated in Watts, KiloWatts, GigaWatts etc.

The bullshit power industry (Comprising bullshit jobs - David Graeber), itself consuming unnecessary power, is counting on influencers like you continuing to make these errors, so people will never get a clear view of what energy actually is, and where it all actually comes from, thus perpetuating the whole business.

We could fix this tomorrow, removing all poverty and scarcity forever, if folk could be quickly educated on what energy actually is, there is actually a very quick fix, but it is drastic, the kings of capital and industry do not really want to see it happen, as it will dilute all capital, and all power to control people. But it is happening anyway, inflation is the start of it. If we know what this means, that money is coming to align with power, rather than capital. Capital is Joules. Joules per second is power. The only way to represent power with money is by continuous issue of money, i.e. tokens / notes / dollars per second.

If the energy is donated to us, as it is from the sun, the single source of all energy, then money has to be issued for free to all people, to honestly represent it.

That is the part the capitalists don't like to hear, because if folk have free money, like we saw when 4Tn was issued in US in one month, weird things start to happen - they start to lose control.

Capital goes down in markets whilst the value of the issued currency goes up, and things like oil, well they go negatively priced.

Because people were voting with money given them for free, they were not interested in making profit, only in looking after the things that mattered to them.

So there we saw for the first time in history, actual fine-grained democracy at work.

That is how it will happen again next time, it seems to me, and this time it will be forever.
