The post from "Yesenia" whether real or not shows what happened by removing the energy consumption of Ethereum, it moved away from the only link it had with physical reality, damning it forever to the world of greed, speculation, and Ponzi, imho.
You can read in my story about the "Kardashev Hinge", the importance of the energy consumption feature of pow, in that case Bitcoin, but I still say we are yet to see the real value of it. We won't, until we move to a completely solar powered world.
Pow, is the only physical method known, of converting energy directly to money.
If the energy is from sunlight, use of it has the opposite effect of energy we take from the planet, the latter being destruction by definition.
Use of any sunlight at all is creation by definition.
It doesn't matter if it charges someone's EV, heats a water tank on a roof, or is converted to the clean fuel of hydrogen or even on to food (See "Solein"), or makes a cryptocurrency token, all are creation, adding to Earth. Further, it is all economic product, which to date has never been formally monetised. if it is done by solar energy. It all has the effect of reducing the temperature on Earth, again by definition.
It doesn't make sense to me that on one hand you are a proud EV powered by solar user, but don't seem to see how all of this connects together with the power consumption of pow tokens.
