The establishment, that is the oil barons, banks, etc wants you to be a doomer, and to convince everyone else of the same. That way you won't cause any trouble, just die quietly along with anyone else you, and "B" aka the "Honest" Sorcerer (How honest is an anonymous identity? Anyone taking him/her seriously really needs to wake up and smell the coffee), and the growing army of doomers managed to convince there is no way out.

It might well be that something like the end days are actually here, but remember it is an ultimatum, not an absolute, we have the power to move to somethng like utopia, or to have armaggedon with the status quo, it is our choice.

Truth will take us to the better outcome, not lies.

If we have our eyes open, we should be able to see a few things, like the sun, which has single handedly powered all of nature for millions of years. We could be part of that nature or not.

It is a truly outrageous lie, to claim that the sun can't sustain us.

Of course we should know it can, and will, if we understand how to work with it, rather than against it.

We can even argue reasonably we've always been actually part of nature, until about now, that we can see further use of fossil fuels would be against nature, therefore not possible.

But our consumption of it to date was a necessary evolutionary process for us. Indeed, why else was oil even present in the makeup of Earth? Of course there is a reason, like the yolk in an egg, or the placenta in a human mother. Earth is simply our Mother, and the oil is our placenta.

We've used it now, and now it is time to cut the umbilical, and move to breathing the infinite air (Energy) of our environment.

The single source of all that energy is the sun, so that is what we must plug into, and are already doing.

Now we might hear folk expressing some concern about the amount and expense, and environmental impact of solar energy construction needed, but those concerns no longer apply in the next phase, because the energy of the sun is something that comes to us for free, making use of it is something we can't do using the old hierarchical business models of capital wielded for power, it literally isn't possible to continue that model, money has to come to represent energy rather than capital, so the old hierarchies will fall, and all people will have infinite, valuable free money, which itself devalues the capital.

The result of that is to remove all bullshit industry, which is probably the most power hungry part of the old world, with no-one needing to do bullshit jobs, there will no longer by any bullshit industries, including war, which is the biggest bullshit industry of all, so there we see a big drop in the amount of power needed to sustain us.

With those activities gone, folk wishing still to work (Most actually do), will be free to work at whatever they wish, funded by free money, mostly independently from their occupation.

So we shouldn't believe anyonymous charlatans like B, we have no idea who funds them, what their agenda is, though it looks pretty obvious it isn't in the interests of the public, to just die quietly and allow those still wielding their capital to enforce scarcity on all others whilst carrying on destroying all of life.

Further, note B has only been in Medium for quite a short time, writing on this subject. Others of us have been here for quite a few years, warning of things to come with many hundreds of stories, and how we need to deal with it. Some of us have done some pretty serious systems Engineering too, we have the experience to know what is possible, and what is not.

Not dying quietly, means downing tools in all the bullshit jobs, as is happening already, and demanding the funds spent on defence be redirected towards solar implementation.

Personally I wish I didn't have to respond to stories like yours, and B's, because it is a distraction from working on the technical work of the solution, where I think our time is far more productively spent, but I can't stand by and watch trolls like B polluting everyone's minds.
