The author did the best thing he could, by publishing his account. The data is published now, nothing can by achieved by penalising the journalist, its all truth, and its in the public domain. If the journalist is seen to be persecuted, it doesn't help whoever might organising things to try to stay secret. Secrecy, and fear of calling it out is what they want, but if we let them have it, they win. As Neimoller warned, speak up whilst you still can. I think the author was doing just that, good on him, three cheers imho.
