That wouldn't be very clever, banning internal combustion cars, rules out the possibility of rescuing old cars for hydrogen conversion.
Governments can be phenomenally stupid sometimes.
You might recall hydrogen looks like the only way we are going to keep aerospace airborne, most of that requiring to be internal combusition driven. SAFs etc are not sustainable, those look likely to end in even more pain than fossil fuels, with no change to the source problem of temperature being pushed up, it can only make it worse, as long as we are not doing anything to try to replace the energy heatsink which fossil fuels were.
Use of hydrogen would replace fossil fuels over time, we would build up more than is consumed, and that wold be a store of energy which would have gone to heat, had neither we nor nature used it, and look, we've removed a large part of nature that used to use it, all the photosynthetic life. Hence why we need to become photosynthetic ourselves, backed up by hydrogen, the whole thing funded by permanent solar indexed stimulus.
Money is going to come to represent nothing if that is not done in any case - I wouldn't listen to anyone claiming inflation has been sorted out, it hasn't, the physics shows us why, and the genocidal reaaction of a governmnent losing control of its energy slaves is something we need to be concerned about now, we need to make sure government itself is solar powered, to avoid the move to domestic and community solar, like the palestinians did, being wrongly intepreted as them becoming a load, rather than a population actually doing the right thing for the environment.
Their plight, ended somehow, and them honored for doing what we all need to do in terms of energy and energy slavery, instead of being genocided.
In a world that will be very different, I quite like the idea of buying an old classic petrol-head gas-guzzler for a song, to convert to hydrogen. I still love the sound of a nice V8, V10, V12, V16, actually the more cylinders the better, a Bugatti would be cool, converted to burn hydrogen.
