Thanks Indi. This is some hard truth that I am sure on a US platform, will go down very badly, but it's the truth that some of us always knew but knew we couldn't say, because the furore over it would eclipse whatever other message we might have that takes priority, like the global energy problem, which I still say the war in Ukraine is actually just one symptom of, if maybe the worst one, it won't be the last until we start seeing the root cause.
I share your skepticism and bitterness over the way Ukraine has been dealt with, some of us tried to flag it up early but nobody paid any notice.
This just confirms the actual usefulness of the platform,
unfortunately.
I might be even more skeptical than you, on NATO.
I think it has grown some legs on its own now, maybe intentionally allowed and encouraged by the US, it is almost like a country but not a country in its own right.
I think the US could easily shift focus to NATO being the next sacrificial victim, thrown into the fray against Russia or even China, or even both.
The European countries investing troops and resources into it should beware, it actually should no longer exist, it failed it's mission the instant Ukraine was attacked. Now it's a destructive force looking for a fight to justify it's own existence, and busy stoking up old grievances in Kosovo.
What the hell is it doing there, why is no-one winding it down?
