Thanks for your insight. For me my use of Medium started like yours, I was advised by PhD supervisors to start writing in something like Medium, to improve writing skills amongst other things, and it was good advice I think, but funding for my PhD dried up, given I was funding it via my contract Engineering Work, which was ongoing. Trouble was, with difficulty of maintaining profitability going up, due to what I describe as the global energy problem, putting ever greater pressure on me to do more contract work, I had less and less time for the PhD, that had revealed profit driven limitations also in platforms, all platforms, given my project was dependent on a sustainable VR platform, which went bankrupt even during my project. When the platform went bankrupt, I realised my project as it was, was unsustainable, and actually that was an existential global problem, because it exposed, by showing that a simulated world was unsustainable, so also has to be the physical world unsustainabke for the same reason as the virtual world.
It can't be done at profit.
We can't have a sustainable world, and profit in the same world, it's physically impossible.
From there, a very large can of worms began to open up, the deeper we look, the more worms we see, and unfortunately all business for profit has to stop, will stop forced by nature of nothing else.
Now we have to admit, academia is also fully dependent on business for profit, and I've found myself digging into how that affects truth, and the findings are astonishing, we find some gaping holes on the most basic of scientific logic, together with massive tall stories that don't look very scientific at all, but even more horrifying, we realise all of this is part of a beast, Satan, the Moloch, it's actually the emergent property associated with us all acting for profit, which, when we look closely at profit itself, is an energy lie, a deception a sleight of hand.
Suddenly, religion starts to make sense, because look, it was so right about too many things, that we had to evolve to come to know. Hence why religion can't be fiction, it knew way too much about a future that could not be predicted even by the wildest science fiction.
Religion is the wildest science fiction of all, and it gets crazier, because science fiction turns out to be not fiction, it's us creating the future, manifesting it in a way.
Like this we created the beast, and the bad news for academia is, we use it to blind ourselves from the horrible reality of the Beast, and again this characteristic is built into academia by commodification of all education into silos of knowledge, all isolated from one another, in a way everyone can ignore atrocious things done by the collective, taking no responsibility for it, virtue signalling whilst playing what we see is only a small part, as if it was disconnected from the whole, like this we ourselves acting together when it has an outcome we like, but we ignore when it has an outcome we don't like, like genocide.
Anyhow I hope this explains my use of Medium also, to me it's my only outlet for what I see as my research work, which started on virtual world technology, becoming real world concerns.
The reason I never fell down through the cracks of the commodified education filter is because I did, I lived foir the ethos of starting a big company at one time, I was under the spell, but was forced to see outside the filter by my work in industry which became fixing systemic problems which required deep multidisciplinary "soul searching, to be done to correct things arising because of lack of systems Engineering effort on the first place. In that work I had to undo just enough commodified education programing as needed to keep projects" on the rails", but not so much as to derail profitability. It was a balance we couldn't always get right, some projects just had to fail.
Anyhow it forced me to start thinking multisciplinary, and here we are, with probably a requirement by nature that we all get multidisciplinary pronto, because now there is a new emergent property in town, this one done by nature, the opposite of the Beast we created, and its out to take control of us, siezing our energy in the most benevolent way possible, it will force us to stop using profit, and to start giving everything for free.
Its a wildcard of nature, and yet an Ace, that still most can't see, it's unbeatable, it's what we have to go with, no choice, not really, nature will remove all choice until we make the required choice.
Anyhow sorry longish reply again but hopefully it gives some of my insight in response to yours, fair is fair, right?
