Thanks for your detailed reply. Thanks to you too for your original article, prompting response.

I like to use the Kardashev's scale also, but we need to be careful in the wording of what Kardashev meant meant by Type 1.

Notice there is no actual power source on Earth, only various forms of stored energy.

The only actual power source is the sun. I am sure as a cosmologist Kardashev would have been aware of that, implicitly assuming everyone else would know too.

This is a common fault of experts, sometimes we are not aware of the things we take for granted as common knowledge, when actually it isn't, and should be clarified.

Earth is actually something like a giant battery, trickle charged from the sun.

So use of any stored energies from Earth is unsustainable.

But in general we don't know this. Even worse, many can't believe it, as the outcome of it is contrary to their business / financial interests. I believe this is down to the way we think of financial capital.

So we should be careful to say "Able to store and use all the energy available to its planet"

Life itself, and everything created to sustain it, are all forms of stored energy. All of it is charged at source by the only power source, the sun.

So for actual sustainability, we must use only the live energy from the sun, we have no choice in that.

Capital, is a form of stored energy.

By adding work done by the Joules of the sun into our economy in the form of solar power used to do anything, we are adding to the base capital of Earth.

So that process of continuously adding work done by the energy of the sun, is something positive, that we do not yet formally monetise.

But when we do, as we have to any time now, to deal effectively with inflation, whilst also providing money for all people, for free, because all are working positively from the energy of the sun, therefore all adding value to Earth, capital will become seen as virtually worthless.

Who needs it, if substantial free money is available to all.

Use of capital from Earth is actually a negative process. Any process discharging the energy of Earth is negative. Our financial debt actually translates to an energy deficit with our planet.

We owe it back, what we took out.

The only way to pay it back, is to do work with the energy of the sun, which requires all people.

Everything will change when substantial sums of money are again issued to all people for free, like they did when 4Tn stimulus was issued for one month in US (Equivalent to $10K dollars per head).

Oil prices went negative, stocks in bankrupt but still loved companies soared, gold and even Bitcoin languished. Fish, coral, and air quality all showed momentary recovery, and the dollar itself, went up.

We are much closer to this transition than most people realise.

Within months, we will see many tens of millions in all developed countries facing poverty, starvation, and homelessness, as things stand.

Conventional business is breaking down, all over the world. There is no way to continue the business of having everyone employed, working for often useless industries, adding no value, all fueled by fossil fuels. This is something that precedes covid, covid was just the catalyst. It was being written about by myself and many others since around 2008, when we realised it was unsustainable. David Graeber coined the term "Bullshit Jobs". To me as a systems Engineer, this translates to a useless waste of energy.

We are currently in the mindset of financially punishing, for things we call crimes, when what we should be doing, is paying people not to commit the crimes, because most crime is done for money, and all law enforcement, and justice systems exist to try to force people not to commit crimes, extracting revenue from those who do.

Most crime is actually just poor people trying to make money, the only way they can. The ideal business model for any business is to take money in return for nothing. When poor folk to that, they are defined as committing crime.

Carbon tax, is just a form of bribery to "look the other way".

We see 80% of industry, including most of the "Green" industries existing to appear to fix the problems, whilst fixing nothing, actually perpetuating it, as that is what they need to do, to make a living.

Free money for all people actually makes not only perfect physical sense, but is really inevitable, it fixes almost every problem we've ever experienced.

It is the only way we can survive.

And the only way we can physically do that, is to monetise the energy of the sun.

Bitcoin as the first POW token, is what shows us how to do, if the Banks don't want to do, as seems apparent, at least until now.

Bitcoin could be used as a means to allocate power to consumers, if needed. That was the outcome of the "Bitcoin Kardashev Hinge" story.
