Thanks for those valuable thoughts and observations Richard. We seem to think alike, I am not particularly religious myself, but can't help seeing a lot of things with religious relevance.
To me as an Engineer looking to help fix what I see is a fundamental energy problem, we seem to be at the "End times", which transcends all politics.
Personally I feel lucky to be alive to be seeing this, though it is frustrating seeing how little we still seem to understand of it as a species, I still have faith that realisation will be very sudden, instantly changing everything, and could happen any day now.
It is a long story, written from my point of view in so far something like 280 stories, but in essence, our fixation with profit and war is an abuse of energy, since the advent of significant solar power.
Solar, by my analysis is the only actual source of energy.
All else is stored energy, which is capital of some form or another.
Solar energy is unique by being the only source of Joules which are actually added to Earth, and those Joules are delivered to Earth with no per-Joule cost in terms of work needing to be done by humans in order to receive them.
So we have some issues with the mentality that nothing is ever for free, or should be for free, and that mentality is the biggest barrier of all I see standing in the way between us, and true fully beneficial, completely unrestricted, free sustainability for our species.
I don't see China doing any better than the US in this, nor any other country, in all countries, political power is maintained by wielding capital, which is now an abuse of energy, since now with infinite raw energy being accessible by already commercial technology, we have no excuse not to be moving to it, other than our contiunued fixation with capital and profit.
So I try to avoid being dragged into political discussions, but find I can't avoid it, when I see blatant misinformation abounds, because the same misinformation perpetuates the abuse of physical energy.
Propaganda wastes more energy than we can possibly imagine, it seems to me.
Real good and evil actually does appear to exist, in terms of energy, and propaganda is right at the heart of it.
