Thanks for that. I don't know Simon P or his work, but to me hydrogen and fusion are two very different things. We have the equipment to do hydrogen, but it is not used much as yet because investors are not interested in it, seeing no return, whereas fusion is something investors are very interested in, but does not exist yet, and probably never will, imho, because it will be superseded by widespread use of solar very soon, it seems to me, so the only practical application for fusion in the future might be for spacecraft.

Also fusion is a theoretical method of generating power, whereas hydrogen is a practical energy storage and transport medium, it needs power to create it.

Enapter, for example is a typical off-the-shelf modular hydrogen generator useful for a single large household solar installation, or multiplied for bigger community installations. So practical hydrogen stuff is very much with us already, it isn't something the might or might not happen in the future. But it is expensive, until we monetise the hydrogen, or actually the solar energy creating it, which is what I think needs to happen, to make it mainstream.
