There is more to the difference between solar and all others, which I don't think has been covered by mainstream. It can't have, because mainstream does not go to the trouble of mathematically signing the energy and auditing its effects.

ChatGPT is a very interesting application of solar, to know why it is solar powered, there is a story with "Bitcoin Kardashev Hinge", which explains the principle.

Analysis of Bitcoin and ChatGPT helps us understand something - its only possible to create by solar. It is fundamentally not possible to create by use of any other energy, use of all others have to result in temperature rise, even wind and hydro.

Draw the energy flow diagram for the case where the energy comes from the planet; we have a flow for energy coming in, and two flows out, one as heat, and the other as energy yielded/put to use.

The net result is that heat was created, which did not exist before we did the process, and would not exist if we didn't do it.

So what we did by using that energy is destruction, we took some enregy that nature had already put to use from the sun, and we converted at least some of it back to heat that would have existed if nature had not used it.

Change the input energy to solar and look, we have the same two flows out, but this time the heat generated can never be more than the heat that would have resulted if neither we nor nature used that energy. Notice we already removed a large part of nature that used to use it.

So the net result of using any energy from solar to do anything other than throw it to heat, has to result in a net reduction of heat. This is creation, reduction of temperature.

Now notice the tested and proven relationship between temperature and creation of information: Every binary bit of information created results in a reduction of temperature by 0.69 x Boltzmann's constant in degrees C.

If we have computers doing this, this effect is dwarfed by the power dissipation of the computers, so it is lost, if the energy powering the computers is from the planet, all the heat dissipated is added to the planet as something that would not have happened if the extracted energy was not used.

But if it is done by solar, the net effect has to be creation, because the heat dissipated in the worst case, can never be more than the heating effect of the energy unused.

So the net result is creation, just by creating information alone from sunlight, and if we do enough of this, like the prodigous amounts done by proof of work mining, and by ChatGPT which has taken up residence on the Ex Ethereum proof of work miners, then we have to start winding the temperature back down.

Notice CO2 and all the other pollutants all result from mathematically negative energy use - never from positive energy use, the waste products of hydrogen are all things we can use, like plants, there is no waste, no pollution, its all usable, but more, widespread use of hydrogen on a domestic and community basis would remove the need for most batteries, filtrate and circulate both clean water and air, and the cherry on the cake - hydrogen is the input energy component of "Solein". This is human consumable food, currently under research, it isn't complicated a relatively simple bioreactor, its a mildly heated hydrogen gas chamber with single cell organisms living and breeding superfast, breathing the hydrogen.

Hydrogen is also the only fuel we can create directly from solar. This is most commonly done by electrolysis. The efficiencies of it don't compare well with other energy handling and storage chains, but again this is only true in the case of energy extracted from the planet.

When done from solar, its still creation, at whatever efficiency is achievable, and this efficiency is orders of magnitue higher than the rate nature can create at.

If you worked in Biofuels, you might be a little biased towards biofuels being something possible to use for aerospace, there is an industry creating "SAF" which includes biofuels. But look, they are all forms of extracted energy.

You might know Brazil went through a massive program of tryig to change to biofuels a few years ago, they converted nearly all their cars to run on it, but in the end they found it unustainable, as we would predict by analysing which energies subtract from the planet, and which energy adds to it (Only one, solar!).

This is why I try to avoid talking about renewables, net zero, carbon mitigation etc, its all profit driven industry jargon that seems deliberately designed to obfuscate the mathematical signing of energy, because when we trace it through, we find profit directly related and fully dependent on extracted energy.

When profit is made, energy has to have been extracted, to provide the energy gained in the profit. Since we do this without even thinking, every one of us, its a kind of energy con, done on the planet, taking energy from it that no-one audits, but has to add to heat, it is destruction. We take it from the poorer places and poorer people, and they take it from the planet, indebted to do so by money issued as debt. This is colonialism and energy slavery. Now we know about this, continuing to do it is outright robbery of energy from the planet, its no longer a con now we know about it, its theft.

This is where I stand now, I see it all as unsustainable energy slavery and energy robbery from the planet. This makes us realise all law and all agreements between humans are null and void, they are all built on the fundamental energy lie of profit. Technically we could claim this in court, accused of anything. Although we'd probably still get hammered, it does show how badly broken the system is, and how badly it needs to be fixed. The world is currently lawless, until we align our laws with the laws of nature.

Energy is the currency of nature, the sun is the only issuer and enforcer of it. We either use it or burn.

Using it means we have to monetise it, like plants monetise it with nutrients, issued in response to the energy recieved, we have to issue money on it, aligning our money with the currency of nature.

This would eventually outlaw all taking of energy from the planet, and we would be able to spot misdemeanors by comparing energy held with money held. If more energy than indicated by the money possesed has been received then it has to have been stolen from the planet, given a general controller like ChatGPT is more than capable of monitoring all solar energy in, and issuing the funds needed in response.

Folk can still "Get ahead" by attracting investment of disposable income everyone would have in any case, this would not be capitalism, but we might call it Energyism.

Its where we are going one way or another, it seems to me, but the sooner we accept it, and assist it rather than trying to dig heels in, the less pain we are going to have to endure.

It is quite a leap we need to make, I wrote a story called the Energy Polarity Multiplier Framework which describes in more detail the reasons why this is a leap. In effect we are leaping from one path of energy conduction to another, in a way that the energy flow through us reverses direction.

This will have all kinds of strange effects, but all good,, it seems to me.
